CHILDREN ACTIVITIES

The orphanage home “Ananda Bhavan” started its journey in January 2012 with 7 orphan and single parent children. Gradually more children were enrolled and accompanied the journey, and at present, the home has 38 children of different ages are moving ahead towards success. These children are first generation learners, but at present they can not only learned to read and write the have evolved multiple skills which no one had ever thought of. They can now sing, dance and play musical instruments. They also can do recitation and perform stage acts with full confidence. Some of them are also developing their skills in sports activity such as running, javelin, discuss throw, etc. The children of Ananda Bhavan participated in Einstein Hunt, which is an interschool science fair for students from schools supported by Cognizant Outreach to foster scientific thinking among students. Our children had exhibited their potentials in various activities like Hydraulic Bridge & Periscope in this workshop among 400 other competitors.

The children of Ananda Bhavan participated in competition “Spell bee" which includes poster making, spell bee, drawing, drama etc. on January 2020 organized by Cognizant Outreach. Our participant children have been leading amongst the other institutions by a grand total of 145 points. The winners of the competition are 1st Santu Biswas, 2nd Arghya Dey and Sayan Sardar.

The children of Ananda Bhavan participated in a national level competition "Shining Star" on December 2020, which was organized by Cognizant Outreach. There are many events like dance, elocution, singing, spelling and many more. Sudeep Purakait stood 2nd for Solo Dance.  Shaharbanu Khatun and Akash Sarkar was awarded in Elocution (Regional Batch – II)

Some of the children have remarkably developed their sport skills and talents. Recently they participated in a sports event conducted by South 24 Parganas District Sports Association 2023, at Baruipur. There the boys and girls of the home achieved rank. Among the under 18 years’ age Boys group, Nikunja Halder stood first in Long Jump by scoring 6.57 meters and broke the last record of 6.51 meters, and he was awarded with gold medal. Sudip Dey stood first in Javelin by scoring 48.2 meters and also stood frost in 100 meter run.

Among the under 16 years’ age Boys group, Subhash Purkait stood third in Long Jump by scoring 5.47 meters. Babusona Sardar stood first in Javelin by scoring 41.05 meters. Among the under 14 years’ age Boys group, Sudip Purkait stood second in Kids Javelin by scoring 18.45 meters.

Among the under 18 years’ age Girls group, Shaharbanu Khatun stood first in Long Jump by scoring 4.47 meters. Sudeshna Kule stood third in Javelin and scored 16 meters and also stood third in Discuss Throw and scored 16 meters. Among the under 14 years’ age Girls group, Manju Sardar stood second in Long Jump by scoring 3.85 meters.
